In the last decade, the step motor has received the attention of many researchers, especially its steady state and transient behavior. Recently there is a renewed interest in this type of motors. This interest has been created from requests for more efficient, reliable, and easier position and speed control drive systems especially in the field of digital control in general and NC machines, robotics and computer industry in particular. These new applications require the continuous improvement of the analytical and numerical methods which are useful to modern control of the step motor.
